Amsterdam 14 January 2025 – In the bustling heart of Amsterdam, where the hustle and bustle of the city meets a close-knit residential community, we find The Cohesion Little Manhattan. This unique residential complex offers not only a place to live, but also a community to be a part of. Gerard Ram, one of the first employees at Rockfield, was there from the start of Little Manhattan as Community Manager and has witnessed the growth of the complex up close. He was actively involved in the tours and moving in of the first tenants. Today, Gerard works as Director Property Management We spoke to Jessica Annastazia, 27, a former tenant, who shared her experiences with us.
From your parents’ home in Heerhugowaard to Amsterdam
Jessica Annastazia, originally from Heerhugowaard, moved to Amsterdam in search of more opportunities and a more dynamic life. ‘I didn’t want to stay in Heerhugowaard. Amsterdam offered so many more opportunities,’ she says. Jessica Annastazia found her new home at The Cohesion Little Manhattan, a place that quickly became much more than just a living space.

A village in a building
Jessica Annastazia lived in The Cohesion Little Manhattan for seven years and was one of the very first tenants. She witnessed the development of the complex up close. ‘When I moved in, it was still quite empty, but it quickly grew into a cosy, social place,’ she recalls. For her, the communal areas, such as the gym and the library, were an extension of her apartment. ‘It felt like a village in a building,’ she says.
Stronger together: the power of Co-living
One of the biggest advantages of living in The Cohesion Little Manhattan was the strong sense of community. ‘There were always events and the community manager was very involved,’ says Jessica Annastazia. This made for a safe and friendly living environment where tenants quickly got to know each other. ‘We even had a group app for our floor. It was like a big family.’

Everything within reach
The facilities at The Cohesion Little Manhattan played a big part in Jessica Annastazia’s positive living experience. ‘The gym and work spaces within the complex were ideal. I didn’t even have to leave the building to have everything I needed,’ she explains. The library was also a favourite place, where tenants could exchange books and use them for their own projects.
Tips for new tenants
For new tenants, Jessica Annastazia has some tips. ‘Go to Sierplein for your shopping and the Vondelpark is only a 15-minute bike ride away,’ she advises. She also stresses the importance of the communal areas. ‘Make use of the facilities and take part in the events. It’s a great way to meet new people.’
Looking to the future
Although Jessica Annastazia was very pleased with her time at The Cohesion Little Manhattan, she also has suggestions for future improvements. ‘I would like to see more communal areas where tenants can create something, such as cooking workshops or creative sessions,’ she suggests.

Is Little Manhattan something for you?
Jessica Annastazia recommends The Cohesion Little Manhattan for entrepreneurial individuals looking for dynamism and opportunities in Amsterdam. ‘It is the perfect place for young people at the beginning of their careers,’ she says. ‘You have everything you need at your fingertips and the community is great.’
