Eindhoven, 2 October 2025 – On Thursday 2 October, the iconic Lighthouse residential tower was literally put in the spotlight. The completion of this 109-metre-high gateway in the bustling Strijp-S district was celebrated with a spectacular light and fireworks show. Stijn Steenbakkers (councillor for the Municipality of Eindhoven), together with Ferdinand Gremmen (director of VolkerWessels Bouw en Vastgoedontwikkeling Nederland), Tim van Zilt (Director of Stam + de Koning Bouw, on behalf of Bouwcombinatie Visser & Smit Bouw) Sebastian Zwart (Senior Director of Investments and Development Rockfield Real Estate), the new residents of Lighthouse and other guests raised a toast to the achievement of this special milestone.
“By completing this prestigious project, we have not only created value for our investors, but also made a significant contribution to a sustainable, healthy and future-proof living environment at Strijp-S.”
-Sebastian Zwart – Senior Director Investment & Development, Rockfield

A new connected co-living community at Strijp-S
Lighthouse comprises 333 mid-range and private sector apartments, ranging from studios to penthouses, suitable for professionals, house sharing couples and families. The building forms the missing link between the striking Klokgebouw, Strijp-T and the future Machinekamerplein, and also offers approximately 1,000 m² of commercial space, where a boutique gym will be located. Rockfield is adding the living concept The Cohesion, in which tenants share facilities such as a living room with laundry room, shared items, parcel box and a community manager. Roof gardens and co-working with meeting rooms make Lighthouse a vibrant community where living, working and meeting come together. Lighthouse thus makes an important contribution to the future-proof residential environment at Strijp-S.
“Proud to see this intensive development finally realised with the team and all those involved. The city has gained a piece of urbanity.”
Ferdinand Gremmen – Director, VolkerWessels

Second project after ‘LUX’ at Strijp-S
The completion of Lighthouse marks the end of an eight-year development and construction project, with client Rockfield now taking over the operation of the 333 apartments. Lighthouse is Rockfield’s second project in Eindhoven and is part of its growth strategy to develop and operate affordable, high-quality apartments for institutional capital in the Netherlands. With the addition of Lighthouse, Rockfield now operates 6,300 units in the Netherlands with assets under management of €1.35 billion.
“With Lighthouse, we are taking Eindhoven to new heights – literally and figuratively. A place where living, views and city life come together at a height of 109 metres.”
Tim van Zilt – Director, Stam + De Koning Bouw
Lighthouse delivered ahead of schedule thanks to strong collaboration
With Lighthouse, SDK Vastgoed has made a beautiful addition to the Strijp-S skyline. Thanks to the smooth collaboration with Stam + De Koning Bouw, Visser en Smit Bouw, Architect De Zwarte Hond and all partners, Lighthouse was completed faster than expected, allowing all tenants to move in earlier than planned.
“Lighthouse is the result of vision, collaboration and craftsmanship. A beacon of light in the heart of Eindhoven, where living, meeting and experiencing come together.”
Leo Heijne – Director, Visser & Smit Bouw
