Madrid, 14 January 2026 – Rockfield, a leading European investment manager in the living sector, today announced the promotions of Mats Bartels to Investment Director Northern Europe and Josep Franch Bellmunt to Senior Investment and Developments Director Southern Europe.
The promotions reflect Rockfield’s strong growth trajectory in Europe and underscore its continued focus on strengthening the senior investment team as the platform continues to scale.
Since joining Rockfield in 2021, Mats Bartels has been instrumental in expanding the business in Northern Europe. He led the growth of the portfolio by more than 3,000 units and successfully shaped Rockfield’s entry into the French and German markets. His sharp execution skills and investment insight have been key drivers of value creation within the platform.
Josep Franch Bellmunt has played a key role in building Rockfield’s presence in Southern Europe, particularly in Spain and Italy. He led the company’s first investments in the region, contributed to the successful launch of Rockfield’s European fund in 2024 and was responsible for growing the portfolio to more than 1,500 units. From 2026, he will also sit on Rockfield’s Investment Committee.
These promotions come at a time of strong momentum for Rockfield. In 2025, the company raised more than €1 billion in new equity, grew its portfolio to more than 10,000 units and increased its total assets under management to approximately €3 billion.
Looking ahead, Rockfield expects to launch new investment strategies in Europe in 2026, further broadening its exposure within the living sector. The company continues to position itself as a pan-European living specialist, with strategies across the full risk spectrum from Core to Opportunistic. Rockfield will continue to invest in various sub-sectors within living, including regular residential, flex living, student housing and senior housing.
